This Beech E18 can be found in the excellent Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) museum in Ratmalana. This aircraft, believed to be the sole example ever used by the SLAF is ex 4R-AAU and was used for survey work. By 1980, it was retired and stored prior to refurbishment for the Sri Lanka Air Force in 1982. It was first reported with the museum in March 1993.

First reported in the museum in September 1993, this is one of twelve Balliols operated from 1954 by the Royal Ceylon Air Force, the predecessor of today's Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). One of its projects was the construction of a single Pazmany PL-2 side-by-side trainer aircraft from a kit obtained from the USA. The aircraft resembles the Italian-built SF-260 used in large numbers by the SLAF. Its serial depicts it was used in an experimental role, rather than for training new pilots.
