Unknown photographer. Info on back of photo - 69241 Northrop F-5B 336 Sqd Wattisham. No date. Scramble have air shows for 1968 and 1972 but no Norwegian F-5's. Maybe another air show year not listed. I have guessed 1967-70. in 1971 it carried an axe badge on the tail. The squadron on the photo back is wrong as code AH is 332 Skv. This aircraft was built around 1966 and allocated US serial 66-9241. Delivered new to the Royal Norwegian AF as 69241. Later flew as 241. Preserved in Trondheim and noted in June 2020.

The chap walking in front is F/O Bill Dann of 1476 (Rayleigh) Squadron ATC who led the team which retrieved the cockpit section of Lightning F.1 XG325, from P&EE Foulness in June 1972. WH739 went to 19MU at St. Athan where it was S.O.C. 27th July 1976. The cockpit section was saved and was still with 2475 Squadron ATC at Ammanford, Carmarthenshire in 2021.
