The she went to Interocean as 9J-AEP before sold to Urban Drew as N84AU in 1979 and joining Air Swaziland in 1982. In 1986 she was sold to Flying Enterprises and leased to Interocean again. Wfu at Lanseria in 1989 and scrapped the following year. The nose section is preserved with the SAA Museum at Rand.

This DC-6 made an emergency landing at KBTR after hitting trees on approach to the airport in New Orleans, LA. in heavy fog the day before this slide was taken. New Orleans is about 50 miles southeast of Baton Rouge. Note the damage to the wing leading edge from a tree. There also was extensive damage under the fuselage, including a gash running from the wing to the tail. Additionally, the number four engine was damaged and was shut down and feathered, as can be seen in the slide. They were lucky to walk away uninjured from this incident.
