The ultimate in Lockheed Twin conversions - the Howard 500. Built in 1943 as a PV-1 Ventura USN serial 34765, but diverted to the RAF as FP613 and then the South African AF as 6427. Bought by Howard in 1961 and modified to H500 standard in 1963 with pressurised fuselage, higher powered engines etc. Destroyed in take-off crash at Toronto Ontario in July 1981.
