Jade Cargo International operated in this attractive livery from 2004 to 2011 as a joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines, Lufthansa Cargo, and the German finance corporation, DEG - Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft. This aircraft subsequently was re-registered as 4X-ICA and flies with Cargo Air Lines of Israel.

This Dornier 328 previously served with Swisswings and Air Engiadina as HB-AEI, and briefly wore the colors of KLM Alps. Here seen arriving in the evening from Mannheim during the relatively brief period in which Cirrus operated scheduled flights from Tegel.

Delivered to Avianca in August 2009. Seen here still in the older, more colorful livery, at a time when Avianca aircraft could be seen in at least four different paint schemes since Avianca took over TACA at a time when the latter airline was itself in the middle of a rebranding effort. The newer Avianca scheme can be seen on the ATR-72, with registration TG-TRD, passing in the background.

This Gulfstream II was modified to serve as a Shuttle Training Aircraft (STA). Its cockpit was designed to closely resemble the flight deck of the Space Shuttle and the aircraft could be used to simulate the flight characteristics of the Space Shuttle during re-entry and landing after an orbital mission. The aircraft joined the collections of the US Space & Rocket Center in 2017.

Delivered in March 1999 and thus nearly twenty years old at the time this photo was taken.

Seen arriving from Vancouver. Frame delivered in September 2005 as a CRJ-705ER variant of the CRJ-900 with reduced seating to allow it to comply with scope clauses limiting the maximum seating capacity for aircraft flown by regional airlines, such as Jazz Air and here on its third paint scheme. In 2018 it was converted to CRJ-900 as the scope clause had been scrapped.

A support aircraft for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's delegation on an official visit to Berlin. The Il-62 has always reminded me a bit of a Klingon Battlecruiser.

Although adorned with CM Airlines titles, at the time of this photograph, this aircraft was operated by Guatemala's TAG Airlines, whose logo can be seen on the tail. This thirty-one-year-old aircraft was delivered 30 March 1988 to Delta Air Regionalflugverkehr as D-CDIC, and has since flown for Deutsche BA with the same registration, Air Nelson and Air Rarotonga as ZK-NLT, and Direct Aero Services as YR-DAA before coming to TAG in 2013.

Although the orcas have concluded their marketing arrangement with Southwest Airlines, they've decided to team up with Washington-based Kenmore Air to similar effect.

Tropic Air is the largest Belizean airline currently operating, sharing a duopoly on domestic air travel with Maya Island Air. Santa Elena/Flores is the only Guatemalan destination served directly by Tropic Air, and is one of relatively few airports outside of Belize where Tropic Air aircraft can be seen regularly.

Southwest Airlines 737-3H4 N615SW sandwiched between Qantas 747-438 VH-OJL and United 747-422 N118UA on a hazy winter's day in San Francisco. All three aircraft have since been retired by their respective operators.

Delivered to El Al in 06/61 as 4X-ATB. A terrorist hijacking incident took place on board on September 6, 1970, but the aircraft was not badly damaged and continued to serve with El Al and later Arkia until 1985. It was returned to Boeing for the KC-135 conversion program, but Boeing chose to donate the aircraft to Berlin's Technikmuseum in honor of the city's 750th anniversary in 1987. Originally placed on public display in Lufthansa colors with the fake registration "D-ABOC," the aircraft was moved to a remote corner of Tegel airport around 2000 to serve as a fire trainer. Left derelict, it was scrapped in May 2021.

The addition of the A321 to Hawaiian's fleet has made possible a number of new services from the US mainland to Hawaii's neighbor islands, but in some cases it has also resulted in capacity being reduced from a 767 or A330 to a single-aisle aircraft. Here Kukui is seen arriving in SJC from OGG. This flight comes in shortly before sunset and can only be photographed in decent light in the summer months. The aircraft is named for the candlenut tree, the official state tree of Hawaii.

This unusual livery has its origins in seventeenth-century English heraldry. The state flag of Maryland, and thus, this aircraft, is based on the coat of arms of the Calvert and Crossland families, whose scion, Sir George Calvert, was the first Lord Baltimore.

Delivered in May 2019 as the 12,000th aircraft manufactured by Airbus. The A220 is gradually replacing the Boeing 717 in Delta's lower-capacity west-coast operations and is seen here arriving on a flight from Salt Lake City.

Passing in front of Mount Tohiea on the island of Moorea, this Air France 777 arrives shortly before 6 a.m. after a flight from Paris and Los Angeles.

This CRJ was delivered to SkyWest in March 2006 and has been operated on behalf of Delta Connection ever since.

Then owned by the Hiller Aviation Museum of San Carlos, CA, this 1945 vintage DC-3 was exported to Russia in 2013.

The daily British Airways flight from London Heathrow to San Diego has been operated by a 747-400 in the winter season and a 777-300/ER in the summer season over the last few years. Here G-BYGB is seen arriving on a rather gray February day, perhaps not looking much better than the UK's typical weather for this time of year. G-BYGB was placed in storage at Cardiff in March 2020.
