The Aiglet Trainer is an aerobatic version of the Auster with shorter wings. This one came to Australia in June 1954, being the former G-AMOV. After spending 15 years mainly in outback Queensland, it was withdrawn from service in 1969. Following restoration it was re-registered on 14 March 1988.

This intriguingly-painted Sportsman was first registered N214WS in 2007. It's understood that the builder was a person of native US indian descent who painted it this way as having meaning to his people. It was sold to Australia in 2016 and re-registered VH-ZCC(2) on 22 April that year. Seen here at the Antiquers' National Fly-in (although clearly not an antique!)

'Salvation Jane' at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's National Fly-in. This aircraft was built by De Havilland Australia at Mascot, NSW, in 1942 and was one of a batch to serve with 9EFTS at Cunderdin, WA. It seems to have been a late starter in its civil career, having first been registered as VH-BTM as late as 5 May 1954. It seems to have suffered a crash in 1959 or 60 and to have been resurrected as VH-AUZ in 1994.

Built to an RAAF order for a new basic trainer, this aircraft had its first flight as A85-427 at CAC's Fishermans Bend aerodrome on 19 June 1956. It was stored at the RAAF Stores Depot, Dubbo, between 1975 and 1996. It was sold into private hands and restored at Moorabbin and Tyabb in 1996/7, being registered VH-WJE on 31 Jan 1997. Its first post-restoration flight was at Tyabb on 22 November that year. Seen here going for an evening pootle at the Antiquers' National Fly-in.

This 1963 Beaver was delivered new as a cropduster to Super Spread, being registered VH-IDI on 5 February 1964. On 15 November 1996 the aircraft was officially destroyed in a fatal accident near Point Lookout, NSW. The wreck was subsequently rebuilt as a seaplane and registered VH-NOO on 17 February 2000. A year less a day after this photo was taken, on 31 December 2017, VH-NOO crashed into the Hawkesbury River. The pilot and five passengers were all killed.

Built in 1959 as a genuine nosedragger Tri-Pacer, it was registered new in Australia as VH-PSW. Rebuilt as a taildragger and up-engined, it seems to have been re-registered in December 1985. Registration was subsequently changed to VH-PCR(2) to free the original rego for a new RV-7 being built.

Alliance put the big Fokker through its paces again with an impressive display as 'Unity 991' at the Wide Bay International Airshow. This aircraft has had a long history, initially as PH-EZF, then to USAir as N864US, then temporarily to PH-CXG, then to Germaina and Air Berlin as D-AGPG. Acquired by Alliance in 2010 and registered VH-XWR on 14 September that year.

Built to a 1951 order (in the days when the USAF ordered more than 17,000 aircraft a year) and delivered in 1952 as an L-19A-CE, serial 51-12001. I don't know the exact history of this aircraft, but it seems likely that it eventually went to the R Thai AF before being 'demobbed' and exported to Australia, becoming VH-LQX on 28 August 1991. It's currently based at Essendon and regularly flies IFR.
