At the last few airshows, the Skyhawks have been using a Nomad Air SC-7 Skyvan. This one was a unexpected but very welcome surprise in place of Nomad Air. This aircraft does raise some eyebrows though with its C of R being cancelled two days ago, yet here it is on the other side of the country doing a Government contract...

Converted to Skyliner and displayed Farnborough 1971 in same scheme but with pink top and Interstol titles. Painted into BEA Scottish colours 1973, becoming British Airways 1974. Leased to McAlpines and later Marconi from 1986 to 1999, sold to Africa becoming 9U-BHJ, ZS-ORN, 3D-AER, 9Q-CSD and 9Q-CLD. Win Win Aviation N198WW 2019. The location is identified by the small harbour and disused airfield as Portavogie, Co Down.

The large rear cargo door can be opened in flight to allow rapid deployment of paratroopers or heavy supply loads. " Built 1970, retired 2006 and put on display at Oman Armed Forces Museum, Muscat.

This Skyvan was retired in 2007 and placed on display at this very interesting museum.

Long distance contract work!

The second production Skyvan on demonstration to South West Aviation, but no sale followed. Withdrawn from use at Sydenham on 27 January 1969, and broken up there in November 1976.
