Early production SBD-2 built in 1941 at El Segundo. It survived participating in the crucial actions at Pearl Harbor and Midway. Preserved wearing correct period markings.

Surviving the attack on Pearl Harbor, this Dauntless went on to sink a Japanese warship on Mar 10, 1942 and participate in the Battle of Midway. Transferred to training duties at NAS Glenview, IL, it crashed into Lake Michigan June 11, 1943 while attempting to land aboard USS Sable. Recovered in January 1994 and restored, the historic Navy aircraft is now displayed in the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Pensacola, FL.
