The plane set numerous speed records during its career, the last of which was on 16 Oct 63 flying 8,028 miles from Tokyo to London in 8 hrs, 35 min, 20.4 sec, averaging 938 mph. Speed record from Tokyo to Anchorage averaged 1,093 mph. 1969: Flew to Offut AFB, NE for display at the SAC Museum. 1997: Disassembled and trucked to the new museum facility in Ashland, NE.

Slide taken when Chanute AFB was still active. This is actually GRB-58A 55-666 painted as B-58A 61-2059. This a/c was originally built as a YB-58A. Transferred to Chanute in May 1964 as a ground instructional airframe. Redesignated GRB-58A in May 1965. Put on display at the base in 1967. After the Chanute Air Museum closed in 2015, this a/c was moved in August 2017 to the Castle Air Museum in California.

This Hustler was built by Consolidated at Fort Worth in February 1962 and delivered to the 305th Bombardment Wing, Bunker Hill (later Grissom) where it was given the famous moniker 'Greased Lightning'. It set numerous records including flying 8,028 miles from Tokyo to London in 8 h 35 min 20.4 sec at an average of 938 mph. It was SOC in 1969 and is now on display at the super Strategic Air and Space Museum at Ashland.
