K25 slide scan. Built 1945 as msn 22487 44-78664 for USAAF. Operated by Pan American on lease as N74173 from 1948 to 1953. From 1954 Slick, Aaxico, Capitol, Zantop, Ralco. Rich International 1970. Rebuilt in 1975 as composite aircraft incorporating msn 289 and msn 22487 taking on identity of the former. Active with Rich until 1983, thereafter stored Miami. Southwest Aviation 1989, ferried to las Cruces, NM and stored. Acquired by Yanks Air Museum 2000 and flown to Chino, CA. Still unrestored in faded Rich colours 2018.

If you look really closely there is still a small but recognisable part of the Rich international markings visible on this Curtiss Commando.

World War II veteran 43-47218 began civilian life in 1959 flying freight with Riddle Airlines as N5134B. The big freighter moved to Airlift International, Zantop Air Transport and Universal Airlines in the 60's until withdrawn in 1968. Rich International bought the aircraft in 1973 and rebuilt it using parts from N74172 cn 22487 and was re-registered. It is now with the Yanks Air Museum in Chino, CA.

Delivered to the USAAF as 43-47218. Other regns worn include YV-C-ERB, N5134B and N137R.

Ex-USAAF 43-47218. Remnants of its days flying with Rich International remain on this very tired looking aircraft stored on the Yanks Air Museum ramp.
