On static display at the Avalon Airshow 2007. Built by the group of enthusiasts at Narromine Airport in NSW, Australia, this replica of the Wright Brothers Flyer has accumulated over 50 hours flying time since its first flight on 27 September 2005

VH-SOF WBA01 (Spirit Of Flight / Wright Bros Aircraft Inc. 01) was constructed at Narromine from modern plans generated from original plans drawn by the Wright Brothers for the Short Brothers in 1909. First flight 27 Sept. Seen here being positioned for dedication by Dr Buzz Aldrin and first public flights at the Narromine Air Pageant four days later.

An interesting juxtaposition: less than 40 years apart in design.
