DC-10 line number 2 first flew on 17 December 1970 as N101AA, later becoming N10DC with McDonnell Douglas. Laker acquired it in June 1977 (allegedly at a good price as it had been a prototype aircraft) and it subsequently served with American Trans Air (N183AT), Calair and Novair (G-GCAL) before conversion to a "flying hospital" for Orbis as N220AU. Built in 1970 and registered as N101AA then N10DC in 1972. To Laker Airways as G-BELO in 1977 then to American Trans Air as N183AT in 1983 and Cal-Air International as G-GCAL in 1986 who were renamed to Novair in 1988. To Project Orbis as N220AU in 1991 and converted to an eye hospital. To the Pima Air and Space Museum, AZ in 2016 for preservation.

Delivered to the USAAF as 43-49177 then to the RAF as KJ999 and the SAAF as 6848 in 1944. Converted to a Maritime Patrol version. Sold as ZS-NTD in 1995. Stored at Lanseria in 2005, seen here with "People First" titles.

Ex South African Air Force 6848, registered May 1995 to Aero Air, then to Eyethu Air Cargo Jan 1998 and to Air Zambezi (named "Southern Belle") in Jul 1999, on lease from Keljet. Returned to Keljet prior to April 2000 and stored at Lanseria.

The second DC-10, used by the manufacturer in the test flying and type certification programme before refurbishment and delivery to Laker.

'Southern Belle' at the hangars before the day's flying. This is actually a leased aircraft, built for Virgin Blue. It made it's initial flights using the Boeing flight-test rego N330SF before being registered in Australia on 27 June 2002.
