Ca.1943: TOS USAAF. Ca.1944: Free French Air Force. 16 Jun 45: State Ministry of Air/Air Transport Department, Paris and registered F-BAMA. 22 Jan 48: South African Tropical Transportation, Algeria. Sometime over the next few years this plane ended up in the hands of G.L. Waggoner and registered N94540. 15 Sep 66: Unknown owner with c/r N51605. Ca.1979: Unknown owner in Mexico with c/r XA-SEX. 1981: Ferried to the Air Force Museum where it was restored as a USAAF aircraft.

On display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. The Lodestar served in the transport and training role. The C-60A was the most numerous of the different versions that were built.

Owned by Texas oil millionaire Guy L. Waggoner at the time of the photo. The W logo under the wing and on the nose also appeared on hydroplanes raced by a Bill Waggoner in the 1950s. Some of his hydroplanes were named Maverick and the name on the aircraft may have a family significance. N94540 is now part of the USAF Museum collection. With the Waggoner Estate "W" logo on the wing underside, as was common with most of the family's aircraft.

The C-60 was the most numerous of the Lodestar variants operated by the USAF. This example was TOC by the USAAF in 1943 but went to the French post-war and served in Algiers as F-BAMA. It returned to the US around the mid-fifties and flew with various private owners (last reg. as XA-SEX) before arriving at the National Museum of the USAF for preservation and display.
