This aircraft had a few operators before being painted up for Baltic Airlines in Feb 1988, to be registered SE-KBU but the airline never got off the ground and was leased to British Midland in full Baltic livery till Aug 1988, then to LAR and finally Virgin (it did get a Virgin tail for a while). The aircraft was retired at EGMC (Southend) 1st Aug 1989 and scrapped in June 1997

It was leased from, and still in the basic colours of Manx Airlines. Built as Viscount 816, but modified to Viscount 836 in April 1960 (prior to delivery).

Baltic Airlines was a short-lived airline in the late 1980s, which I believe was merged into British Air Ferries. This 1-11 was reportedly leased (from Ryanair?) for April and May 1989 only. By August 1989, it was on lease to Loganair.

Taken the day before its certificate of airworthiness expired. It had been reposessed from Baltic Airlines by Ali Finance. Had been operating for Virgin. Delivered to Lufthansa as D-ANIZ in 1959. To British Midland as G-BAPG in 1973 then to Intra in 1978. Renamed to Jersey European Airways in 1979. Went on to be used by a number of operators. Withdrawn from use at Southend in 1990 and scrapped in 1997.

No registration painted on. Painted for Baltic Airlines but sale fell through. Registration SE-KBU was allocated but not painted on. Delivered to Lufthansa as D-ANIZ in 1959.
