One of two S-58Ts from NY Helicopter offering pleasure flights around Manhattan from their base at East 34th Street Heliport. N59330 was fleet number "6", obscured by the tail rotor.

This Sikorsky S-58T was flying scheduled passenger services between Manhattan's East 34th Street heliport (6N5) and JFK Airport in April 1984. After serving with the German Army and Navy since 1963, it was purchased by Sikorsky in 1973 for conversion to a S-58ET with a twin-turbine P&WC PT6T Twin Pac replacing the Wright R-1820 Cyclone. It flew with Air Greenland as OY-HBG, "Taliffak", between 1975 and 1982 until sold to the US. New York Helicopters (and its two sister companies) flew it 1982-1998. It was sold to St Louis Helicopters in Nov 1998 (for spare parts?) and canceled in July 1999.

This veteran S-58 was operating pleasure flights over Manhattan. Very enjoyable it was too!

a lot effort is needed to get this helicopter restored to its former glory.

New York Helicopters fleet No. 7 (on nose) approaching over the Hudson River on its scheduled run from JFK. I flew on its return trip to connect with my flight from JFK to Manchester aboard a British Airways L-1011 TriStar.

Built in 1959 as piston engined S-58. Converted to S-58ET with P&W PT6 turboprop. Operated by NY Helicopter with 14 seats on commuter flights to JFK and elsewhere.
