Helicopter sightseeing has been one of the attractions in Niagara Falls, Ontario since the early 1960s. The first Niagara Helicopters operated a large flight training school in the 1960s and 1970s were low time students would build time flying tourists in Bell 47s. Today's Niagara Helicopters began as PanAir Helicopter Services which was bought by Reudi Hafen in the mid-1980s. Hafen sold the company to Helicopter Transportation Services in 2012, which introduced four EC 130 T2s in 2015 for its nine-minute sightseeing flights over The Falls. Six new Airbus H130s were ordered in February 2024.

Originally built as UH-1D, (later converted to UH-1H), 66-1127 for the US Army.

Noise abatement? One of the very short take-off and landing aircraft at a National STOL sponsored competition held at various airports across the USA. Over the weekend of July 22-23, 2023 Sodbusters STOL was held at Hartford Municipal Airport in WI .

The San Diego Fire Department currently operates two helicopters out of Montgomery airfield: this 2017 built Firehawk plus one Bell 412 (with a 2nd on order as of March 2024) can be dispatched for SAR and firesuppressing duties. A 1980 built Bell 212 was also operated till 2023, when technical issues grounded the helicopter. The SDFD's original intend was to aquire three Firehawks, but increase in cost lead to the decision to operate a mixed fleet.

For The Detroit News, operating an L-5 Vega, NC32M, was not a whim. In 1934 they bought this new L-9 Orion. A radio reporter could broadcast from the plane - WWJ, on the tailfin, was the call sign of the Detroit News Radiophone. There was even a photo camera installed in the fairing on the left wing. Its role with Buffalo Airways is clearly stated on the fuselage, "Air Tanker Birddog". Seen parked outside Buffalo's hangar at Yellowknife Airport.

Sherman Fairchild developed an interest in aerial photographic survey during World War I. He started Fairchild Aircraft to build an aircraft (the FC-2) to meet the needs of his survey business. Normally NC2K, NR2K was used by Fairchild's photogrammetry (low level, oblique images) business at Burbank. It became NR2K when it participated in air races.
