Pictured soon after added to the Central Mountain fleet in January. Unfortunately, the aircraft crashed in a river near the Silver Hilton Lodge north of Smithers, BC on September 12, 1992.The registration was later re-used on a Cessna 182.

Central Mountain Air's second Beech 1900, delivered December 27, 1990, is pictured already in service without titles (and missing a propeller spinner). Sold to Northern Thunderbird Air in 2005, the aircraft moved to the USA as N120UC with Alpine Air Express in September 2017.

This Twin Pioneer Series 3 first flew at Prestwick on June 26, 1963 and sold to the Royal Malaysian Air Force. One of four sold to Aerial Agriculture and ferried to Australia in Nov-Dec 1972. Sold to the USA in June 1975 but impounded at ANC in Aug 1975 (See https://www.goodall.com.au/australian-aviation/twin-pioneer/twinpioneer.html for complete history). Bought by Jack Anderson of North Coast Air Service and flown to Smithers, BC c.1980, but C-GNIS couldn't be certified. Later ferried to Woodcock (CBQ8), 38 nm N of Terrace, on last flight. Vandalized. Partially restored. Sold for parts.

Wartime C-47 43-49382 was transferred to the to RCAF as Dakota 981 on delivery. It was renumbered 12960 before withdrawn and sold in 1970. Pictured on lease to Central Mountain Air from Bradley Air Services / First Air (from 1989), the aircraft crashed onto a frozen lake in a sudden snow squall on Apr 4, 1991.

Leased in 1989 to help modernize some feeder routes, this Super King Air would be replaced by Beech 1900s as Central Mountain Air expanded it's commuter partnership with Air Canada. Last with Ken Borek Air as C-FKBU from 2000 until the registration was cancelled March 21, 2011.

Seen departing Smithers with its non-collapsible retardant bucket. Registration was cancelled in 1984 and its present location is not known.

Seen at the British Columbia Forest Service air tanker base. This helicopter later became N863, then EC-CYJ and lastly N47B

Rolling off of the Douglas production line as 42-24000, this C-47 was transferred to the Royal Air Force as FD941 on July 19, 1943. Arriving in Great Britain it was used by BOAC (G-AGHO) from August 1943 - June 1949 when it was returned and sold to Northwest Airlines as N9993F. It came to Canada in May 1951 for the Royal Canadian Air Force (10910), before going civil again with Austin Airways as CF-AAM September 28, 1970. Central Mountain Air bought the aircraft in January 1989. Sadly, C-FAAM crashed on take off at Bronson Creek, BC January 14, 1993.

Seen while it was with the British Columbia Provincial Government doing photo surveys and mapping. In 1971 it went to Northern Thunderbird Air in Prince George and is now N62936 located in Hemet, California. I flew in the Expeditor several times a long time ago.

Four PBY Catalina/Cansos of the Flying Fireman lined up at the British Columbia Forest Service base in Smithers. Number 3 still had its former RCAF side blisters and nose turret. It went to the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola Florida. Number 4 is believed to be a PBV-1A reg at the time as CF-FTN. Number 5 is CF-IHN, a PBV-1A cn CV-441. It crashed near Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1980 and was destroyed.

Vazar Aerospace received an STC for their Otter turbine conversion in 1989. Originally marketed as the Vazar Dash 3 Otter, Central Mountain Air was the first to take advantage of the improved performance and reduced operating costs when they flew the number one conversion from 1989 to 1992.
