The Dragonfly was a licence-built version of the American Sikorsky S-51 and used by the RN in the SAR and comms. role until replaced by the Westland Whirlwind. This particular example served with the RN from 1953 until 1966 when it was retired to the Fleet Air Arm Museum where it is now on display in Hall 2.

On my last visit to the Fleet Air Arm Museum this A-109 was on display in Hall 1, whereas now she has been relegated to the Reserve Collection at Cobham Hall. In service, it was assigned to CAB601, the Argentinean Army's Batallon De Aviacion De Combate 601 Ejercito. After the Falklands invasion it served on escort and general transport/cargo missions. After the Argentinian surrender it was transported back to the UK, given the serial ZE411 and used as a support a/c for the SAS.

This Avenger was built as a TBM-3E and TOC by the US Navy as 69502 in 1945. In 1953 she was transported to Scotland and converted to AS5 standard by Scottish Aviation at Prestwick and then two years later to ECM6 standard at RNAS Gosport. Finally grounded by the Navy in 1963 she is now on display in Hall 2 of the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

This Falklands War veteran is now stored, along with many other helicopters, in Cobham Hall as part of the FAAM's Reserve Collection. The orange rings on the fuselage highlight the bullet and shrapnel damage sustained when parked on the deck of HMS Antrim when it came under attack from Argentian Dagger jets.

The Westland Wyvern was a single-seat carrier-based multi-role strike aircraft built seeing active service in Operation Musketeer during the Suez Crisis. This is the only survivor from the 124 airframes completed and was the last TF1 pre-production aircraft completed but never flown. Now on display in Hall 4 at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.

The Attacker was the FAA's first jet fighter but suffered from deficiencies that led to it quickly being superseded, the main problem being that the tail wheel undercarriage made it difficult to land on aircraft carriers. This is the only surviving example and was built at South Marston factory in 1951. It served with 702 and 736 Naval Squadrons but was then displayed on a pole at RNAS Abbotsinch before being saved by the FAA Museum in 1961.
