This was at the height of the miners strike and there were a number of charters into EMA bringing police officers from various parts of the UK to police the picket lines of the coal mines in the Midlands. From 24Aug1985 with Euroair. To G-BEKG on 03Jul1986. To G-DAAL 11Aug1992 with Alexandra Aviation. To Emerald Airways on 04Oct1993. WFU at Blackpool Dec1996. Registration cancelled on 18Mar1997.

Heavily cropped from the original, as my lens at that time did not have the "reach" of today's equipment. This aircraft finished its flying career with Ryanair as EI-BSF.

slide from the NK collection. - G-BEKF was built in 1962, and one of the oldest of the type in DAN-AIR service. It had been bought from Argentina in 1977. Two years later, on 31/JUL/79, the aircraft was lost in a take-off accident at Sumburgh.

Retained the Dan Air scheme without titles but operated by Emerald Airways.

Acquired by Dan Air from Aerolineas Argentina with whom it was registered LV-HHF.

This ex-Ryanair 748 is now used by EFAST Ireland (Emergency Fire and Safety Training) at Weston. It had previously been used for special forces training by the Irish Army at nearby Casement Aerodrome.

Leased from GPA Jan 86 to Jan 87.

Venture Airways provided an all First Class service linking Coventry with Paris CDG. The aircraft had F class seats in a 1-2 configuration. Small world that it was, one of the Venture Airways company executives lived next door to my parents. Shortly after they commenced operations he invited me to sample their service. This photo was taken early morning prior to my departure to Paris CDG. It was a wonderful experience, but sadly Venture Airways' existence was short-lived as they could not compete with the multi-frequency options offered by established airlines from nearby Birmingham Airport.

I'm posting this poor quality photo in absence of any other. Leased from Dan-Air London (G-BEKD) Jul 83 until Dec 85. Returned to Dan-Air. Later became EI-BSF with a small Irish airline called Ryanair!

Formerly Aerolineas Argentinas LV-HHE. It went to Janes Aviation which later became Emerald Airways. Noted stored Blackpool (UK) Mar 2005.
