The Pützer Elster (Magpie) was a single-engined light aircraft, manufactured in Bonn, of which some 45 units were built, and is notable beacuse it was the first aircraft produced in Germany after WWII in any significant numbers. The Elster B was the main production version, operated by the Luftwaffe and Marineflieger sport flying groups. These aircraft were initially operated with civilian registrations but were allocated military serials in 1971, this example was 9707. In 1978 the maintenance contract with Pützer expired and the aircraft were sold on for civilian use.

This very interesting museum is housed in Building 361 of the former Leipheim AB, the former ammunition assembly building. The museum aims to keep alive the history of the base that operated from 1935 to 2009.

The He 72 Kadett looks rather like the Fw 44 Stieglitz, but the main landing gear is very different and there is a strut supporting the tailskid. According to the German Wikipedia, He 72 production terminated in 1937 after 768 airframes, including 495 built by Fieseler. It also says that 629 Kadetts remained in Luftwaffe service in 1940, and 417 in January 1944. The Werknummer (c/n) on the tailfin looks like 426 in this and another photo but I'm not sure. It is certainly three-digit, which would indicate a Fieseler, not a Heinkel c/n. The badge belongs to Flugzeugführerschule A/B 24, which was based in Olomouc, Czechia for most of WWII.

The 45th anniversary of the German flight test center was the reason for this colourful Bavarian-style scheme.

Red 6 recovered in 2003 on display at Planes of Fame. Built in 1939 as an E-1, this combat veteran participated in the Battle of France and BoB. It was converted to an E-7, carrying a 300L drop tank or as a Jabo with an ETC 50 or ETC 500 bomb rack. The Emil went to newly formed II./JG 5 'Eismeer' on 22 Mar 1942 at Petsamo and was flown by Lt. Wulf-Dieter Widowitz. While on an escort mission, it was shot down on 4 Apr 1942 by a 2nd GIAP Hurricane Mk.IIb. Widowitz put the aircraft down on a frozen lake. The 36-victory ace was killed on 28 Jul 43 while piloting a Go-145A from Kirkenes to Petsamo.

This Fishbed was originally 948 with the NVA but became 2243 after German re-unification. It is stored in the garden of an embroidery service in this small town close to the Czech-Polish border.
