Tsaradia started operating in July of 2018 as a joint venture of Air Madagascar and Air Austral (La Reunion). As such, Tsaradia took over three DHC-6 Twin Otter and three ATR-72 from Air Madagascar (among them 5R-EJA pictured here), plus two ATR-72 from Air Austral. The main purpose of the airline is to serve the domestic routes of Madagascar and the airport of Saint Denis de la Reunion-Gillot (FMEE). Tsaradia means "Safe journey" / "Good travel" in the local malagasy language. The DHC-6's, of which only 5R-MGD (c/n 329) received the new livery, have now been withdrawn from use.

French overseas airline Air Austral of La Reunion currently operates an all jet fleet of nine aircraft, among them three A220-300. F-OLAV seen here is the 1st Air Austral A220 and was introduced in July of 2021. The vertical fins of all Air Austral aircraft are individually painted and depict a typical landscene of La Reunion, a volcanic island to the east of Madagascar. The Algerian AF became a C-130H operator in 1981, and received six stretched C-130H-30 and eleven standard C-130H by 1984. An 18th Hercules (c/n 5224, 7T-WHB, -30) was added to the fleet in November 1990. 7T-WHP seen here was built in 1982 and initially carried registration 7T-VHP. All Algerian AF C-130H versions now carry 7T-WH* registrations, while four new C-130J-30 ordered in 2018 are from 7T-WJA onwards. All carry Arabic titles on the left side of the fuselage, and English titles on the right hand side.

G-NHVI is one of ten EC175/H175's so far operated by belgian helicopter operator NHV. Built in 2016, this airframe carried registration OO-NSI till October 2019, the month it was based in Aberdeen. However, G-NHVI spent much of 2022 in Albacete (Spain), stopping in Cologne for the European Rotors exhibition on its way back to Aberdeen. Noordzee Helikopters Vlaanderen (NVH) was founded in 1997, and the relatively young company now successfully operates some 40+ helicopters in Europe and Western Africa.

In May 2022, this airframe was delivered to ZeroAvia, a UK and US based startup firm developping zero emissions propulsion engines for smaller commuter aircraft. N409VA became the 2nd testbed for the ZA600 (600kW) hydrogen-electric engine developped by ZeroAvia. The 1st DO228 used for the test and certification process is c/n 8046 registered G-HFZA. Based in the UK, G-HFZA first flew with the ZA600 engine installed on the left hand side on January 18, 2023, while the right engine still is the Jet A-1 fuel powered Honeywell TPE-331 turboprop.

At the time of upload, three of a total of five Falcon 900EX remain in service with the Italian AF, among them MM62245, a 2005 built airframe used to transport government officials. Here, it is leaving Bern with the Italian anti-mafia chief prosecutor on board, after he held talks with his Swiss counterpart. In this case and for security reasons, this information was only made public once the delegation was airborne.

Since 1993, around 110 M-28's have been produced by PZL-Mielec, the airframe shown here was built in 2002. The "Skytruck", powered by the popular Pratt &Whitney PT-6 has been derived from the Antonov AN-28, of which just under 200 units were manufactured. The biggest user of the M-28 is the Polish AF with 25 units, followed by the Polish Navy with 16 airframes. An additional cargo pod can be mounted under the cabin if need be.

On May 18, 1958, american pilot Allen Lawerence Pope was shot down over Ambon while flying a covert CIA mission in a B-26 Invader. Sentenced to death by an indonesian court, he was pardoned in 1962, but not before Indonesia used Mr. Pope as a bargain in a pending arms deal. It is widely believed that the US "bought" Pope's freedom by delivering ten (!) new C-130B's to the AURI as from 1960. A-1303 (mfd Nov 1960) was among that batch and remains the oldest C-130 in service with the indonesian AF, still flying at the time of upload. C-130B's are not able to carry external wing fuel tanks.

Of those, "274" shown here is the only AB139 (the others are AW139's), and served as "Air Corps 112" when photographed. In the mid 1990's, the N250 was an ambitious commuter aircraft project of IPTN (Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara, now Indonesian Aerospace). The 50-seat prototype N250-50 c/n PA-1 registered PK-XNG first flew on August 10, 1995, followed by the longer 2nd prototype on December 19, 1996. The project was to counter the sucessful ATR-42/72 series aircraft but unfortunately, the asian financial crisis of 1997 killed the N250 project altogether. In this 2009 picture, the 2nd prototype (64-68 seats layout) can be seen sitting abandoned on IPTN's premisis in Bandung, Java.

Built 1992, 1st registered as CCCP-31587 and RA-31587, becoming HB-XKE in June of 1996. In it's 25 years of service in Switzerland, this KA-32 has been operating under various AOC's. During a brief periode between May 2007 and March 2008, it belonged to joint venture Heliswiss-Helog, as can bee seen in this picture. Since the KA-32A12 version did not obtain EASA approval, the helicopter had to be sold by the end of 2021, and is now registered in Chile as CC-DGC. At the time of upload, Heliswiss International still operates an EASA approved KA-32A11BC, registered HB-XKA.

The academy of the indonesian Air Force is based at Adisutjipto and from there operates a few Cessna 152, 172 and 182's. The purpose of those aircraft is to tow gliders, serve as liaison aircraft and also to give potential military pilot students some basic flying experience (no training). The basic and advanced military pilot training is conducted by the TNI-AU's flight training squadron 101, since 2014 equipped with Grob 120TP aircraft.

The first of some 350 Skyhawks to serve with the IAF was delivered on December 29, 1967, making Israel the 2nd largest operator of this aircraft outside the US. In 1985, Israel sold 30 A-4E's and two TA-4H's to Indonesia. Over the years, many more ex IAF Skyhawks found their way to North America. "421" seen here had US Bu number 159538 and was sold to Top Aces as N390TA after Israel retired the remaining A-4 fleet in December 2015. In July of 2022, this a/c was cancelled from the FAA register when the aircraft was exported to Canada.

In 2008, Wamena airport became the "Eldorado" for BAE-146 cargo airplanes, after Trigana and Merpati phased out their F-27's and before Boeing 737's were allowed to land at this remote airport. For almost 21 years, this 1994 built B737-300 flew for Air Madagascar, before it joined the fleet of Trans Air Congo as TN-MAN in May of 2015. The airframe is reported to be stored in Amman (Jordan) since March 2019. It is seen here during better days, taxying out for it's first commercial flight in the (then) new Air Madagascar livery. After a severe political crises in 2002, which brought the national airline of Madagascar close to bankruptcy, Lufthansa Consulting helped Air Madagascar to get "back on track". This attractive livery was part of the re-branding.

C-GBYU was one of two CL-215 based at Yellowknife during the 2007 fire season, at that time being operated by Buffalo Airways on behalf of the Northwest Territories Government. This aircraft was built in 1985 and has first been operated by Conair Aviation before joining Buffalo Airways . It appears that this airframe has been modified to CL-415 standard in early 2021 by Viking Air, the owner of the type certificate. The modification mainly consists of new and more powerful turbine engines, plus structural changes on the wing tips and elevator / horizontal stabilizer.
