One of three 146s bought by Aspen in the mid-1980s and operated till the airline ceased in 1990. Later CP-2249, N117TR and reverted to G-BLRA with BAe Warton in 9.97. Used as corporate shuttle by BAe Systems from 1990 till replaced by G-BTVT in 2011. Has recently undergone slow reduction to spares at Exeter

A week later, this was our transport back to Beijing. Never an easy type to pick up as a ride, it was interesting to make comparisons with contemporary western types. Seemed spacious, comfortable and superficially at least, not far off Airbus standards of quality. One of two in the fleet (the other is the short -300 variant), originally intended for Red Wings but delivered to Air Koryo in 3.10 after engine test-bed work

When I first saw this YS in 2006, it was immaculate, having just been painted in these colours. BIMP-EAGA stands for Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines - East Asean Growth Area, and you can see the flags of those four nations on the tail. How it's deteriorated since!

First arriving in the Philippines in 2001, this ex-USAF C-7 operated for a time out of Clark with Jans Helicopter Services before storage at MNL. Said to have been acquired by an Australian company for operation in Djibouti, but looks unlikely to be going far in the near future. Originally 62-4160 and emerged from MASDC in 10.85 as N800NC

At the time operated by F 7 at Såtenäs, this early Viggen ended up on the dump at Ängelholm after instructional use in F 10 marks. The AJ37 was a single-seat ground-attack fighter aircraft, with a secondary fighter role, many undergoing electronic upgrades around 1992 to AJS37 in order to carry Sidewinder missiles. This strange machine known as the RTAF-5 was a Thai training and forward air control aircraft developed and built by the Science & Weapon Systems Development Centre of the Royal Thai Air Force in the 1980s. Like a scaled-down OV-10 Bronco, it had a twin boom configuration and was powered by a single pusher turboprop engine, but only a single example was built, first flying in 1984
