The mid-80s were turbulent years for airlines, especially in Canada. Quebecair replaced it's BAC 111s with 737s for domestic flights and leased two DC-8-63s for trans-Atlantic charters. The charters only lasted a few years and this DC-8 went to Nationair at the end of 1985. Unfortunately, the Quebecair name also passed into history by the end of 1986.

This former Alia Royal Jordanian Airlines and BCAL/British Airways 747 was added to ANA's fleet in November 1990 and was their final 747-200. Transferred to Nippon Cargo in August 1997 and getting a cargo door, it left Japan in March 2007. The big freighter then went to Jet8 Airlines Cargo who seems to have withdrawn it sometime in 2011.

"Chilly Willie" down from it's normal base in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. An ex-RCAF Otter delivered May 12, 1960 as 9404, it was sold surplus in September 1982. Bought by bush pilot Willy Laserich to establish Adlair Aviation in May 1983. Sold in 1993, it went on to Fly with Geraldton Air, Northern Lights Air and Johnny May's Air Charter before going to the USA in 2000 (N361TT). Leased to Alaska's Renew Air Taxi May 2001, the aircraft received a Texas Turbine conversion in the Spring of 2003.

The Pogo was tested from April 1954 to November 1956, but technical problems couldn't be overcome before aviation progress passed it by. It was displayed at Naval Air Station Norfolk,VA until 1973 when it was transferred to the National Air and Space Museum. Photographed here in the museum's Paul E. Garber Storage Facility.

Beautiful airplane, but when a request for route extensions to Toronto were denied (the days of a regulated industry), 767s proved too big for PWA routes. After May 1985, this 767 and it's sister ship were flying with Air Canada. It was retired at the beginning of 2002 and stored at Mojave, CA.
