Slide taken by Norbert Kröpfl. - Built in 1958, Fairchild F-27 c/n 25 served with AVENSA and Ozark Airlines before becoming a corporate transport. It was an unusual visitor to Munich-Riem, probably flying in for the Olympic Games held at Munich during summer 1972. - In 1976, the Fairchild was sold to the Mexican Navy and was reported as damaged beyond repair in a gear up landing at Mexico City in April 1988.

slide taken by Norbert Kröpfl. - Besides four Fairchild F-27s operating for Saudia, there were three different corporate F-27s active with Saudian registrations. HZ-BOF came as a private company aircraft from the US in 1975 and stayed until 1983. In its final years, it was pressed into airline service, first with Britt Airways / Continental Express, and then with Aerocaribe in Mexico. The turboprop was last noted derelict at Cozumel in 2003.

Sitting abandoned on the North side of YXE is this former Norcanair (North Canada Air) Fairchild F-27J. Records show it crashed at Wollaston Lake Airport in 1982 and was "written off" although the reg was never officially canceled until 1990, long after the Time Air takeover which occurred in 1987. The aircraft somehow made its way back to Saskatoon and is now here in this state.

Delivered to Aloha Airlines in May 1960, sold to FB Ayer in May 1967 and leased to Korean Air as HL5203 from June 1967 to September 1970. Sold to TAC Colombia and allocated HK-1140 but not taken up, withdrawn from use at Marana (KMZJ/MZJ). Broken up in 1987, the fuselage went to Quartzsite, AZ by 1995 and The Aviation Warehouse, El Mirage, CA by 2003

Pampa Líneas Aéreas was the last operator of this derelict Fairchild F-27F, found at Montevideo's general aviation airport Angel S Adami.

F-27F CP-2479 was found stored at El Trompillo, apparently sitting here for quite some time, after along career span in the US, Chile and Uruguay, before it ended up in Bolivia.

It was damaged beyond economical repair at Paris Orly 5 Jul 1979, but was flown back to Dinard where it was reduced to spares.
