Delivered new to United 28th Apr 1992 and withdrawn from use KVCV 6th Feb 2009, then flown to KTUP 11th Sep 2012 for scrapping

This Dallaero Lodestar was still under restoration when this photo was taken. It has its props missing and the "Superman's Daughter" nose art has partly worn off, but other than that it appears to be in good condition. The aircraft made its first post-restoration flight here on 26 Nov 2011 and was later based at Mount Pleasant, TX, painted with USAAF insignia on fuselage and wings.

After having been based at California City since at least 2006, this former US Navy R4D-1 (ex Bu01977) was flown out to Fulton County-Brown Field near Atlanta on 14 Dec 2012 and registered to the Coca Cola Co. a few weeks later, on 3 Jan 2013.

Registered to Baja Air on 5 Nov 2002 and initially based at Brown Field, San Diego. Their base had been moved to California City by late 2008. Converted to Dodson DC-3C-TP circa 2010. In Mar 2011 the aircraft was sold to Priority Air Charter, becoming N467KS in September of that year. Later operated for Missionary Flighhts and Samaritan's Purse.

In 1987 this Convair was used by the NASA as a Space Shuttle Crew Escape System testbed. It was fitted with a CES (Crew Escape System) mockup on the left side of the rear fuselage. The aircraft was stored here at California City by 1993, and preserved by 1997, reportedly by a set-up called the California Museum of Air and Space.

An early HS.125 stored at California City. It was still here by Oct 2011, and was moved to India by road and ship a month later. Fate unknown.

As of Sep 1987 this Convair was used by the NASA as a Space Shuttle Crew Escape System testbed. This photo still shows the CES (Crew Escape System) mockup that was fitted to the left side of the rear fuselage. The CES was a candidate concept developed to provide crew egress capability during Space Shuttle controlled gliding flight. Actual tests of this system with this Convair began on 20 Nov 1987, whereby life-like dummies were pulled from the modified aircraft's side hatch mockup by tractor rockets. The aircraft had been stored here at California City by 1993, and preserved by 1997, reportedly by a set-up called the California Museum of Air and Space.
