Lit by the last late sunshine of the day, at rest tied to Air Mount-Laurier's dock on Lac Tibériade. C-GGSC has since been converted with a GE turbine engine.

Based in West Germany. No other details known.

Note the TWA sticker placed by someone with a sense of humour. Stored for several months ex 55-3321 US Army. Became C-GLCV in Jan 1975. Written off by an electrical fire whilst on the ground at Sept Iles QC 12 Mar 1976.

US Army Otter 58-1710 was delivered April 29, 1959. Deployed in Vietnam, the aircraft was struck off strength in 1969. It was registered CF-QRI in 1972 to fly out of Campbell River, BC with Trans Mountain Air Services. Re-named Gulf Air Aviation in 1976, the aircraft is pictured after taken over for Air BC. Registered to Harbour Air in April 1985, the floatplane was written off on May 8, 1991. When the pilot attempted to reverse course in a valley during marginal VFR conditions, the aircraft settled into trees. All survived, but the aircraft remains are still stored at the time of uploading.

Built as U-1A US Army s/n 58-1715. This a/c saw action in the Vietnam War, being assigned to the 18th Aviation Company based at Nha Trang, SVN. Transferred to the Civil Air Patrol in June 1977. It is still active, now registered as N336AK, and has been upgraded with a Garret TPE 331-1 turboprop engine.

This U-1A is painted in high visibility markings. This was one of the last Otters operated by the US Army.

Written off in an accident adjacent to Cameron Lake (BC) 8 May 91. All occupants survived.

Delivered to the US Army as 58-1694, this Otter went to Vietnam in 1963. Placed in storage at Vung Tau for disposal in 1971, it was among 5 Otters donated to Nicaragua. Damaged landing in the jungle in 1976, it was recovered in 1979 and with another wrecked Otter, shipped to Miami as scrap. They were trucked to Duncan, BC where parts were used to rebuild Otter 288. Photographed here on the way to Boeing Field to be rebuilt, it was flying as N8510T by 1982 and had a turbine conversion in 2007

Of the 466 Otters built, 184 went to the US Army as U-1As. There are nice examples of the DHC-2, 3 & 4 at the US Army Transportation Museum, but the light conditions in this corner make the Otter difficult to photograph

This Otter was originally with the US Army, delivered March 25, 1960 as 59-2222. Serving with the Army until passed on to the Civil Air Patrol April 1979 as N5072F, it was brought back to Canada as C-GGSC July 8 1980 with Air Ranger of Winnipeg, MB. Later with Raecom Air. Bought by Air Mont- Laurier in August 1987, it's used during the summer months to support the company's fishing and hunting camps.
