Plane took part in Pentacost rally of Austrian Aero Club, to which it was registered. The pilot is named as Prince Kinsky. Aircraft built in 1934, G-ACSE apparently not taken up. A-145 to OE-ABC in new Austrian register. To D-EABC of German Aero Club after Anschluss. Apparently sold to Airwork as G-AFZG just before WWII. Impressed as AW156 for No 24 Sqn. On a flight from Hendon to Brize Norton on 30 January 1942, the Leopard Moth collided with Oxford N6431 and both aircraft crashed into the ground near Buscot Park, killing all three occupants. The last departure of the Hungarian Lockheed 8A Sirius. As NR115W Justice for Hungary, it had been flown across the Atlantic by György Endresz and navigator Sandór Magyar in July 1931. It became HA-AAF in Hungary. On 21 May 1932 Endresz and Gyula Bittay, who had replaced Magyar, went to Italy to attend the Congress of Transoceanic Airmen, but they lost their lives crashing the Sirius at Rome - Littorio (now Urbe). There was public mourning in Rome and Air Minister Italo Balbo, himself a transoceanic airman, presented Hungary with a rather less modern plane, the Fiat BR.3 HA-AAF Giustizia per l'Ungheria.

Two weeks after Lindbergh's solo flight, Clarence Chamberlin and Charles Levine crossed the Atlantic from New York to Mansfeld in Germany in the WB-2 Columbia. In their triumphant tour they visited Budapest. This excellent aircraft, which went on to make many long-range flights, had been Lindbergh's first choice, having set an endurance record of 51 hours. The number 140 may be an old race number. The original destination, Paris, has been painted out and oddly Cottbus, where the aircraft stopped by on 7 June before arriving in Berlin, has been added.
