Eastern Airlines was retiring the last of their piston powered airliners when this Convair was photographed arriving in Louisville (they did temporarily acquire Convair 440s again with the merger with Caribair in 1973). N9313 went through several aircraft brokers when sold in November 1970. Flying again with Air Calypso (8P-FUN) 1973 - 74, the aircraft served with the Sri Lanka Air Force as CR-811 from 1973 - 82 (see much better photo 339308).

Interflug's first Tu-134 during a press photo event, a few days after its first arrival. The aircraft was substantially damaged at Berlin-Schönefeld on October 30, 1972 when it landed hard in poor weather. A runway excursion was the result and the aircraft ran off the side of runway 25L. The aircraft was ferried to the Soviet Union but it was decided not to repair the aircraft. I've seen the color version of this photo, but unfortunately I only have a print in black & white.
