On display at the Museum of Flight. This Emil has been reconstructed in 1973 using a Swiss Bf-109 cowling and engine mated to a Spanish HA-1112 airframe. The aircraft is painted in the markings of Hptm. Hans "Assi" Hahn, Gruppenkommandeur of III./JG 2 "Richthofen" during the Battle of Britain. Shot down in Feb 1943 as Gruppenkommandeur of II./JG 54 "Grünherz", Maj. Hahn survived the war in Russian captivity with 108 victories, which included 53 Spitfires in the west.

In Jan. 1945 Wiener-Neustadt was one of 39 sites producing Bf-109s and was bombed 28 times during WWII. In the same month, Uffz. Herbert Maxis was flying 784993 in IV/JG53 as part of Operation Bodenplatte when he attacked an American convoy near Ober-Felsberg in the Saarland but was shot-down by ground fire. Maxis belly landed the plane successfully but was shot by an American soldier as he exited the plane. The wreck was later buried but re-discovered in 1987 and used, along with from parts of many different authentic 109s, for the restoration of 784993, which is now on display at Aviaticum.

Delivered to the RCAF as 23141 in 1954. To the Luftwaffe as 931 with code BB-131 in 1957. Previously at Delmenhorst. Preserved at Dusseldorf from 1982 with fake code JA-102. Moved to Marl by 1985 then displayed unmarked in Bochum from 1988.

Retired from service in 1981 and preserved at Kassel. Moved to Technik Museum Speyer by 1994 and painted in Italian markings.

The Museu Asas de um Sonho (Wings of a Dream Museum) or better known as TAM Museum existed from 2006 to 2016. In the entrance hall, this replica of a Messerschmitt Bf109 could be found. A real example was among the many exhibits in the main hangar.
