VH-UFF was originally delivered to the RAAF as A33-1 but was in service only a few months when Holyman's Airways asked to buy it to replace a crashed DH86. Holyman's had it for a year then it became ANA. In June 1938 -UFF was transferred to Airlines of Australia and was still with AOA when it was impressed by the RAAF as A33-3. An RAAF photograph showing A33-1 from the No.1 Air Observer School on a local flight from its base at Cootamundra. This was an impressed aircraft that returned to its former civil guise VH-UUO in 1942. It crashed in 1952. The Rapide seen in recent years painted as A33-1 is not this aircraft.
