This old bird hasn't flown for many years but in recent weeks it has been ground running both engines so hopefully a return to the skies might not be too far away.

A Grumman OA-9 with the US Air Force as 38-579 until sold in 1944. Sooke Forest Products operated this Goose 1974 to 1986 when they closed their lumber mill. Acquired by Coulson Logging / Coulson Helicopter in 1987, it was sold to Oakley Air in 1988. The aircraft crashed on approach to Squamish Airport, British Columbia in poor visibility on May 6, 1991.

Built as JRF1 V185 for the US Coast Guard. Sold as N95400 in 1954 and then CF-UAZ in 1966 with BC Airlines and later Trans Provincial Airlines. Re-registered C-FUAZ in 1978 and flew with Air BC and a private owner before joining Pacific Coastal Airlines in 1988. Since 2016 the aircraft has flown for Wilderness Seaplanes, a specialist division of Pacific Coastal Airlines based at Port Hardy at the northern end of Vancouver Island.

Built in 1944 as JRF5 37828 for the USMC. Operated in Alaska for the US Department of Fish and Wildlife from the 1960s until being sold to a private owner in 1974. Stored and derelict for many years at Lake Hood until being purchased and restored by its current owner.

Delivered to the RCAF in 1940 (926), this Goose was sold in 1945 as CF-BZY to Canada Veneers Ltd. It was a McKinnon turbo Goose after conversion in England (G-ASXG) in 1968.until retro-converted back to piston power by Air BC in 1985. Pictured on lease (or about to be leased) to Pacific Coastal Airlines, it crashed on take off at Rivers Inlet, BC on Mat 12, 1988.. Luckily, there were no fatalities among the seven people on board.

Trans-Provincial Airlines Goose pictured in their recently revised colors; the airline reversed the red and blue of their previous scheme. Trans-Provincial ceased flying in March 1993 and the aircraft was leased to Waglisla Air from June until it crashed on take-off at Prince Rupert, BC on December 4, 1993. The wreck was salvaged and the wings used to re-build Goose N327 / cn 1051.

Ex US Navy Bu37817, RCAF 390, CF-ETJ and C-FETJ. Owned by Airpac Alaska and seen shortly before sale to a new owner in South Dakota as N888GG. Sold again in 2013 and destroyed in a crash near Hamilton Montana in June 2014

MacMillian-Blodel Forest Products was the largest forestry company in British Columbia and operated a pair of Grumman G-21A Goose (C-FIOL, ex-RCAF 397 and C-FHUZ, ex-RCAF 393) for several decades to transport executives and employees between Vancouver Airport and its timber mills on the BC coast, many of which were equipped with seaplane ramps. Goose C-FIOL was one of 23 participants in the Expo 86 Bushplane Flypast on May 5, 1986. In 2021 it was flying with Wilderness Seaplanes based at Port Hardy on the north end of Vancouver Island (which also owns C-FHUZ for parts).

Trans-Provincial Airlines was acquired by the Pattison Group in the early 1980s when Air BC was formed but operated as a separate division primarily serving the north coast of British Columbia. The main base of operations was the former wartime RCAF seaplane base at Seal Cove in Prince Rupert. Goose CF-EFN operated on the BC coast from the early 1970s until Feb 28, 1991 when it was damaged when it ground looped on landing at Sandspit Airport (CYZP). The wreck was acquired by the Tongass Historical Society in Ketchikan (AK) in 1992 as N88821, and was still under restoration for static display with them by 2022.

Operated by the State of Alaska from 1976 until 1996. Involved in two crashes, one in March 1994 and another at Unalaska in April 2008, by which time it was flying with Anchorage based Penninsula Airways. Sold to an owner in New York state in 2009 and still current on the US register at time of upload

Bu 37830 delivered to the RCAF October 1944, this Goose remained in the Air Force until 1956. Becoming CF-HUZ and later C-FHUZ, it flew mainly in British Columbia until Pacific Coastal Airlines retired it in 2012.
