This was the first prototype for the DC-6 series which first flew on 15 February 1946 as XC-112A USAAF 45-873. Converted to DC-6 standard in 1956, but was never allocated a Douglas line number (the first production DC-6 c/n 42854 was line number 1). Operated by TASSA of Spain from May 1963 until June 1965. Aviaco DC-6B EC-ASS (c/n 44695) is in the background. The public roof terraces are at the left.
