A US Navy R4Y-2 to be 145966 but was one of six Samaritans that were cancelled before delivery. The aircraft went to General Motors November 1959 (N5124) and GM converted it to a CV-580 in 1960. Coming to Canada in 1996 and flying with Cypress Airlines (C-GTTE) before heading off to New Zealand (ZK-KSA) in 1997 and Australia (VH-PDV) in 2006. Conair bought the Convairliner and it returned to Canada in September 2009 to join their fire fighting fleet.

Cypress Airlines brought the airplane to Canada the first time in 1996 (C-GTTA). It would later fly with Air Inuit and Hydro Quebec before going to Pionair, first as ZK-PAL and later VH-PAL. The aircraft was ferried to Canada in 2009 to become C-GYXS and stored in Conair's compound without the registration markings.

With the Skeena Mountains as a backdrop, C-GQBB waits to do the return flight to Vancouver. Delivered to Quebecair May 21, 1980, the 737 spent two years on lease to Pan Am (N387PA) before returning to QB and later going to Canadian Pacific Airlines in 1986. Merged into Canadian Airlines in May1987 and Air Canada in 2001, it was sold to Arkia Leasing in 2004. Stored at Mojave, CA it would go to Sky Airline in February 2005 as CC-CJT and be stored again at the end of 2008.

Transferred to the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment at CFB Cold Lake in 1989, it would move to 419 (Moose) squadron in 1990 for training. Painted in this special color scheme, it would appear at many airshows across North America before the type was retired in 1995. Mounted at Fulton Field airport, Kamloops, BC named for 419 Squadron's first commander W/C J. "Moose" Fulton.
