Taxiing out from its Howey Bay dock at the 2000 Red Lake Norseman Festival. Modified much earlier with panoramic widows and a metal skinned fuselage. Built as USAAF UC-64A 43- 5376. Carried out work in South America in the 1950s and '60s. Became N47801 in 1971. Exported to Canada in 1981 as C-FKAS. Rebuilt after a 1995 crash in the Gulf Islands, BC, when a float strut failed and it cartwheeled and sank. Joined West Caribou Air Service at Staunton Lake, Ontario in 1997. The metal fuselage allowed detailed murals to be painted on both sides.

Put out to grass for a time in the storage corner at Selkirk Airport. Rebuilt in 2004 and repainted as CF-LZO in a dark colour scheme, based at Strathmore, Alberta. A flyby in wheeled configuration was carried out at the 2009 Red Lake Norseman Festival. Unfortunately, its flight had to be terminated at Red Lake Airport, Ontario. Effectively entered open storage there, where it still sat, for sale, as late as 2021.

US Army Air Force UC-64A Norseman 43-35432 was delivered in June 1944. Registered N13340 when working for the US Forest Service 1949 - 56. With Reeder Flying Service 1956 - 1960 until Parachutes Incorporated modified it for skydiving use. Next major stop for the aircraft was the Lone Star Flight Museum, Galveston, TX circa 1984 before going to Grass River Lodge in Manitoba for re-building and registered CF-BHU in 2001. It sat idle from 2006 until another refurbishing saw it take to the air again in 2020 with Kississing Lake Lodge where it's current at the time of uploading.

Rebuilt in 2004, and converted from float configuration to a wheeled, land-based version. The owner was attempting a flight across the country from his base at Strathmore, Alberta, taking in a fly-by appearance at the annual Red Lake Norseman Festival en route. Unfortunately, this effort had to be terminated at Red Lake Airport after the fly-by, where the aircraft parked. Effectively entered open storage there, where it still sits, now for sale, as recently as late 2021.

A batch of 15 US Army Norsemans in storage at Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany were sold to Israel through an American broker in 1948. Ferry tanks were installed by KLM in Amsterdam. The two aircraft identifiable here, NC79823 (ex 44-70506) and NC79821 (c/n 521, 44-70256) landed in Gaza, rather than Tel Aviv in darkness on 25 May 1948 and were captured by Egyptian forces. Built for the USAF as 44-70273 then civilianized as NC59786 post-1945. Imported for a G.H.Green as CF-JDG in 1956 (was it the first in the fleet?). Cancelled in August 1986 on export as N538DW and wrecked at Bronson Creek/BC on 4 June 1987 when a wheel came off on landing. A subsequent attack from a grizzly bear finished it off. The remains were donated to the B.C. Aviation Museum for use in the rebuild of CF-DRE. (Photo taken while standing on the Chimo Air dock.)

Seen at the Red Lake town docks while participating in the 1995 Red Lake Diamond Jubilee Norseman Festival. Rebuilt in 2004 and repainted in dark colours. Subsequently converted to a wheeled land-based version. Later did a flyby at a Norseman Festival. Was attempting a flight across the country from its base at Strathmore, Alberta. Unfortunately this effort was terminated at Red Lake Airport, where it was parked. Effectively entered open storage there, where it still sits, now for sale, as recently as late 2021.
