LN-FOI was one of the three first FOF Electras, and became the only one to wear FOF colours the whole period it was operated by the airline from 1973 until the end in 1997. It is seen on final approach rwy 24 this Saturday morning in August 1989.

LN-FOI was the last of the three Electras to be repainted late 1986. LN-FOI kept these colours until wfu at Fornebu in 1997 when Fred. Olsen ceased operations ending an airline that started operating in 1946.

First flight 14 October 1959 as a L-188C with reg N9724C, and delivered new as ZK-NEA to TEAL Tasman Empire Airways . In January ZK-TEA transferred to Air New Zealand, named "Aotearoa". N31231 27 May 1972 for Flamingo Air Lines. Converted to freighter in December 1972, and bought by FOF as LN-FOI 11 September 1973, op cargo flights for SAS and other carrieres. Seen parked outside the new freight terminal built in 1980. It was the last of Fred. Olsen's three original Electras to be repainted in 1986. Moved to Coventry in January 1998, and it never flew again.

Built 1959 as ZK-TEA for TEAL, renamed Air New Zealand 1965. Flamingo Airlines N31231 1972. Fred. Olsen LN-FOI 1973 after freighter conversion. Withdrawn Coventry 1997 for part out and scrap. The cockpit of an Electra was so wide that each pilot had his own set of throttles. Having unloaded its cargo of flowers the aircraft is just having the chocks removed while the foreman (there were no "supervisors" those days) performs a final check.

Restrictions on Melbourne's Essendon airport meant TEAL's Electras and BOAC's Comets were the only foreign airliners seen there regularly in the early 1960s.
