On display at Red Lake's Diamond Jubilee of the Norseman Festival, 1995. Carries the appropriate additional markings 'Diamond Jubilee "95"'. The personal aircraft of "Buffalo Joe" McBryan of Buffalo Airways, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. That evening I had the privilege of a scenic flight round the local area in the immaculately restored aircraft. Delivered new to the Saskatchewan Government Department of Natural Resources in 1946, nearly fifty years earlier.

Firing up and raring to go !! A puff of smoke from the exhausts heralds imminent departure. About to taxi out from its parking spot in the area behind Buffalo's hangar at Yellowknife Airport. In September 2015, suffered engine failure en route to Norman Wells. Unable to maintain altitude, a forced landing had to be made - intentionally wheels up - on the short gravel airstrip at Déline in very poor weather conditions. The aircraft considerably overran the runway. The crew evacuated safely, but the aircraft was written off.

C-GBYU was one of two CL-215 based at Yellowknife during the 2007 fire season, at that time being operated by Buffalo Airways on behalf of the Northwest Territories Government. This aircraft was built in 1985 and has first been operated by Conair Aviation before joining Buffalo Airways . It appears that this airframe has been modified to CL-415 standard in early 2021 by Viking Air, the owner of the type certificate. C-GBYU was one of two CL-215 based at Yellowknife during the 2007 fire season, at that time being operated by Buffalo Airways on behalf of the Northwest Territories Government. This aircraft was built in 1985 and has first been operated by Conair Aviation before joining Buffalo Airways . It appears that this airframe has been modified to CL-415 standard in early 2021 by Viking Air, the owner of the type certificate. Parked on the ramp in front of the Buffalo Airways hangar awaiting its next flight. Only a few weeks later, this aircraft was written off beyond repair making an emergency landing off Yellowknife's main runway, after a go around following an engine fire and with a prop which would not properly feather.
