This F4U had a relatively long service life for a WWII era prop serving from 1946 to 56 before being SOC. She then languished somewhat in California before being acquired in 1985 and restored by the wonderful National Naval Aviation Museum, where she is displayed in the colours of a VMF-312 'Checkerboards' aircraft.

The FJ-2 Fury was developed as a swept-wing, carrier capable fighter from the F-86 Sabre (the similarities are evident). Of 200 built very few are extant and this one is displayed at the National Naval Aviation Museum in the markings of an aircraft assigned to the Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, although, in reality she was based for her entire service life in California and Hawaii.

A very rare Brewster Bermuda built for the Royal Air Force but cancelled before delivery. Diverted to the US Army Air Corps, it was among several Bermudas scrapped at Tullahoma, TN and abandoned. Recovered by David Tallichet / Yesterday's Air Force, the remains were eventually traded to the National Museum of Naval Aviation for a Grumman Wildcat. Restored by 60 former Brewster Aircraft employees it has been put on display at Pensacola in US Navy markings as a SB2A-1 Buccaneer.

This floatplane version of the N3N-3 trainer was given the nickname of 'Yellow Peril' by the trainee Naval pilots. This particular airfame (the BuNo is not original to it) has the distinction of being the first aircraft to be accepted into the National Naval Aviation Museum's permanent collection. Actual serial is 1759.

HO5S was the navy designation for the S-52 and 87 examples were procured for the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. Although it was used in Korea as a scout, observation and medevac helicopter the HO5S was always something of a stopgap until the more advanced designs that superseded it came along. Now on display at the fantastic national Naval Aviation Museum.
