Wilderness Airline bought the aircraft in June 1976. On December 4, 1987, C-GOMC disappeared during a flight from Bella Coola to Campbell River, BC. With a pilot and three passengers aboard, the wreckage has never been found, but was presumed to be in the Mount Waddington area.

After six years of military service, aircraft c/n 12 was operated by Markair (N678MA), Conair and Trans Capital as C-FWYU. The last movement was noted in April 1997, when the aircraft returned to Toronto City airport after an assignment to the United Nations.

Returned to United in 1944, the aircraft was sold to Ford Motor Company as N301K in 1949. Flown by the auto maker until 1967, it came to Canada as CF-VQV. Operating the aircraft from 1970, Arctic Outpost Camps withdrew it in 1975 and it's pictured stored at Edmonton. The airframe was later moved to Red Deer, AB where it remains stored.
