The registration leads one to believe that this was the first Dutch DC-3, but PH-ALI had a lower construction number and was delivered almost six months earlier. PH-ALH captured by the Germans. Used by Lufthansa as D-ABUG and by KG 200 of the Luftwaffe into 1944. Photo from: Amsterdam City Archives

Created in 1949 and with a 600 m grass runway for a long time, Seppe received a paved 830 m (2725 ft) runway and taxiways in 2002 to enable aircraft up to 6000 kg (13230 lbs) to use it. As of March 2014, it is marketed as Breda International Airport, with customs facilities but daytime operations only. Looking more or less along runway 06 here, the interesting Vliegend Museum (Flying Museum) Seppe is in the white hangar on the left.

Ex G-ACWJ. Privately owned but tested by the army during an exercise on 7 July 1936, flown by Lt Hein Schmidt-Crans. He crashed at Soesterberg that afternoon, suffering a downdraft and hitting two busses filled with children. No one was hurt but the autogyro was 'crushed'. Reg cancelled in January 1938. The wreck was returned to Cierva at Hanworth in 1938. Impressed as AP508 in June 1940 for radar calibration work. Ditched off Seaton by P/O Raymond Pullin on 16 April 1941.
