G-ADYH was sent to Martlesham Heath following an accident involving a British Airways DH-86. A spate of earlier accidents involving Australian DH-86s had led to strong denials from DH and the British Government that the aircraft was defective. G-ADYH never received an RAF serial during its short stay. Found its way to Australia after World War II but was refused a certificate of airworthiness. Ended its days in Indonesia in 1949. Designed by Dutch engineer Frederick Koolhoven, the F.K.25 was developed to replace the Sopwith Snipe. This is the second prototype, the first having been lost during an attempt to set a new world altitude record. The F.K.25 was powered by the ABC Dragonfly engine, which was hopelessly unreliable. The project was abandoned when Koolhoven left the British Aerial Transport Company at the end of 1919. Photo from: Imperial War Museums
