This Electra began its fire fighting career after nearly 50 years of passenger and freight flying. Delivered to Western Airlines in 1961, it was converted to a freighter in 1969. Sold to Canada's International Jetair (CF-IJC) in 1971, the aircraft would later fly with Nordic Air (LN-MOD), Fred Olsen (LN-FOG) and Atlantic Airlines (G-LOFD) before Conair bought it in 2010.

This DHC-3 gave the Otter a new lease on life. While not the first turbine Otter conversion built, it was the first one to be made commercially available. Starting as Royal Canadian Air Force 3668 delivered December 15, 1953, Vazar replaced the Pratt & Whitney R-1340 radial engine with a Pratt & Whitney PT-6A turbine in 1987 and certified the conversion in time to introduce it at the 1988 Abbotsford Air Show. Unfortunately, the aircraft was later destroyed when it was flown up a wrong valley in poor weather on August 18, 1996. The Otter flew into ground that rose faster than it could climb.

Here's the twin-engine prototype Jetstar departing for what will almost certainly be it's last flight. Developed for a military requirement that was cancelled, Lockheed proceeded with the design as a business jet. The aircraft is pictured heading to Vancouver to be used at the British Columbia Institute of Technology for training. It was donated as part of an offset agreement when Canada bought the Lockheed CP-140 Aurora. Later leased long term to the Museum of Flight in Seattle , the jet was moved by road to Everett, WA for restoration in 2006.
