With no centrally located vertical tail, canards and a pusher engine/propeller configuration, the Starship was certainly distictive but is most noteworthy for being the first non-military aircraft certified by the FAA to have a carbon fibre composite airframe. This example, one of relatively few survivors from the 53 built, is on display at the Southern Museum of Flight.

This is one of the original eighteen aeroplanes specifically designed by Huff-Daland to perform aerial crop dusting. C.E. Woolman took over the company in 1928 and renamed it Delta Air Service. To generate extra revenue a seat was added in the duster bin to fly passengers and the company became the forerunner of Delta Air Lines. This piece of history is now on display at the Southern Museum of Flight.

The Beech Starship with no centrally located vertical tail, canards and a pusher engine/propeller configuration was certainly distictive. It is, though, most noteworthy for being the first non-military aircraft certified by the FAA to have a carbon fibre composite airframe. This example, one of relatively few survivors from the 53 built, is on display at the Southern Museum of Flight in Birmingham, Alabama.
