Delivered to the USAAF as 44-61748 and stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1945. Returned to service in 1951. Retired at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1954 then to China Lake, CA for use as a range target in 1956. Acquired by the Imperial War Museum and registered as G-BHDK in 1979. Restored to airworthy condition, flown to the UK and made its last flight to Duxford for preservation in 1980. Moved inside the American Air Museum there when it opened in 1996.

Carries serial 44-62220 in very small print just below the tail plane. The significance of the number 4614 on the rudder is unclear. Its position and painting style does not match that of a serial or tail number, and 44-614 was an A-20K Havoc. This is one of the 31 aircraft on display at the Lackland parade field.

Built at Boeing Wichita as B-29 and assigned to the 330th BG based in Guam in 1945. By the war's end, "Sentimental Journey" had flown 31 missions. Converted to TB-29 in 1951 and renamed "Dopey" in March 1954 when assigned to the 4713th Radar Evaluation Squadron at Griffiss AFB NY, flying radar defence evaluation flights until the late 1950s. First arrived at Davis Monthan in 1959, being placed on 'Celebrity Row' from 1965 as 0-470016. Now exhibited as it operated from Guam in 1945 (with dual naming either side of nose)

The B-50 entered service in 1947 with some 370 being built. As they were replaced by more modern equipment, many were converted for use as tankers by Tactical Air Command by the removal of armament and fitment of extra tankage in the fuselage and under the wings. To keep up with the increasing demands from the jets they were serving, the external tanks were replaced by two J47 turbojets. As such, they soldiered on well into the 1960s until fully replaced by KC-97s and moreover KC-135s

"Lucky Lady II' on display at Planes of Fame Air Museum. This SAC aircraft created history, being the first to complete a nonstop flight around the world. The standby B-50A from 63rd BS "Sea Hawks," 43rd BG took off from Carswell AFB on 26 Feb 1949 and landed back on 2 Mar 49 after flying 23,452 miles in 94 hours, 1 min. The 43rd ARS supplied four pairs of KB-29M tankers to refuel the B-50A four times, losing one. Capt James Gallagher and his crew received DFCs, the Mackay Trophy and Air Age Trophy. The B-50A was damaged BER on 13 Aug 50 after all engines failed, breaking off the tail.

This was the first B-29 in Europe - as most viewers will know, the type was not used against the Germans. Coming straight from Goose Bay, it landed at Paris - Orly on 4 September 1945 to be put on display at an exhibition of US military power there, but oddly it is seen here at a similar show in Denmark which apparently opened only a few days later. George AFB Air Show 1978. Owned by the American Air Museum. Painted in the markings of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) which was the forerunner of NASA. Ordered as 45-21787, delivered to the USN as BuNo 84029 on 05 May 1947 as a P2B-1S. On to NACA as 137 where it was called 'Fertile Myrtle'. WFU at NAS Litchfield Park on 05Aug 1959 and later transferred to storage at MASDC, Davis Monthan. Restored and delivered to Oakland, CA in Nov 1969. To N91329 with the American Air Museum. Registered to N29KW on 30 Apr 1987. In 2023 dismantled at Fantasy of Flight, Polk City, FL.

Delivered to the USAAF as 44-61669 on 05 May 1945 and operated from Guam during WWII. Later modified to a TB-29A. Assigned to NAWS China Lake on 18 Mar 1956 and used as a ground target. Assigned to the USADF Museum Loan Programme and loaned to Yesterdays Air Force in 1974. Flown to Barstow for storage. Registered on the US civil register as N3299F on 30 Apr 1976. Cancelled on 15 Aug 1995. Loaned to the March Field Air Museum and flown there for preservation in Jan 1981.

To the museum in 1971. Painted in false markings 48-114/0-80114 in 1986. Moved to MacDill AFB, FL in 1996 then to Dover AFB, DE in 2018.
