Originally 136747 with the US Navy then allocated N437DF, but not converted. Became C-FFQM instead and converted to Turbo Firecat for Sécurité Civile as F-ZBFE. Crashed at Ardèche, France on 20 August 2005. Here it is on delivery ferry with temporary F-W... marks and parked outside the 1941 built TCA hangar which was now owned by Manitoba Government Air Service.

Registered to Dean River Air Services at Nimpo Lake/BC four days later so this Beech would here be on delivery ferry with crudely spray-canned registration on the side. Note the large upward hinging freight door and the engine insulation blankets which were used, in conjunction with electric heaters, to beat the cold start problem. In November 1998 it went back south as N1939K and still current in 2020.

Pictured here while still equipped with radial engines, this Caribou was later modified with PT-6 turboprops. On 27 August 1992 it crashed and burned at Gimli when the elevator gust lock reengaged itself on take-off. Ironically the flight was just meant to be for fun and to consume as much fuel as possible before the aircraft was weighed.

A rare sight at CYWG as these Kelner aircraft normally kept to Northwestern Ontario. It was wrecked on 15 October 1999 when a wing tip struck the surface of Ranger Lake/ON whilst manoeuvring to avoid a flock of birds.

Looking like it has just emerged after a complete overhaul during winter lay-up, this Beech was totaled when a float separated on take-off a few years later. Note the heaps of melting snow, even in April, as winter reluctantly releases its grip.

Four months after the photo date this Beaver crashed and burned after take-off from Great Slave Lake/NT. As can be seen, April was a good time to visit this airfield which was packed out with over-wintering float planes that were waiting to disperse to their summer stations, once the snow and ice had melted.

Newly imported ex G-BDGG and painted in the orange/blue livery of Simpson Air. WFU in 2016 while G-JOEY with Aurigny Air Services. An interesting anecdote concerns the cord just visible hanging from the wing-tip trailing edge. Whilst returning from a previous test flight, the pilot turned the aircraft sharply in front of the hangars doors and promptly stuck a wing-tip through the window. Luckily the pilot was the boss of Simpson Air so he couldn't fire anyone. He claimed the up-swept tip gave a false sense of clearance, so he mandated the yellow cord installation for prevention purposes.

Initially imported for Aero Trades (Western) here at Winnipeg. Although still registered to Buffalo Airways in 2020, this aircraft was the one involved in the infamous crash landing at Hay River/NT on 19 August 2013 that resulted in Buffalo loosing their passenger operating certificate. Investigation revealed that aircraft loading was done on the "come-one-come-all basis" with little consideration of weight. This system worked until an engine caught fire after take-off and the aircraft was too heavy to stay airborne.

Seen before Air Otonabee titles were added. The break in the fin stripe suggests it was originally painted for an unknown cancelled sale. Later it flew with Air Labrador and was DBR 28 May 1984 when the gear collapsed at St. John's/NL (CYYT).
