The Air Yacht was built for A. E Guinness for pleasure cruising in the Mediterranean. The aircraft was underpowered, so Guinness bought a Saro Cloud instead. The Air Yacht , which has been re-engined for more power, went into storage until acquired by a wealthy American named June Jewett James in October 1932 . She wanted to use it to cruise the Mediterranean too. The Air Yacht, named Windward III, set off from Southampton to cruise to Egypt but was damaged taking off at Capri in January 1933. The damaged G-AASE was scrapped. Photo from: Air Force Museum of New Zealand

The Eagle Aircraft 150 is an Australian designed two-seat single-engine constructed from composite materials for training, touring and sport aircraft. The unusual design configuration uses three lifting surfaces, a forward wing (foreplane), main wing (mainplane) and horizontal stabiliser (tailplane). The aircraft was designed and originally built by Eagle Aircraft but is now manufactured in Malaysia by Composites Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM).

This homebuilt Osprey was registered on 19 November 1992. It's a good example of how aircraft registered with RAAus under CAO 95.10 need only display the digits of their individual number, rather than their full registration. DV924 is the aircraft's boat registration.

Revealed on the eve of Verticon 2025 with smoke and lights, the R88 will be Robinson's largest helicopter yet. The Safran turbine powered ten seat helicopter will still utilize a two blade main rotor but the large cockpit dictates separate (and removable) controls replacing the familiar teeter bar single post cyclic control.

The A10 Wamira was an indigenous design for a two-seat, side-by-side, turboprop trainer to replace the Macchi MB326 trainers operated by the RAAF. Designed in the early 1980s, construction of a prototype was well advanced when the project was cancelled in favour of the Pilatus PC-9. The prototype was stored for many years at the RAAF Museum, Point Cook before being acquired by the Moorabbin Aviation Museum in 2019 to add to their impressive collection of Australian designed and built aircraft.

Officially announced at Verticon 2025, the Airbus H140 will be a fit between the H135 and H145. Powered by an uprated Safran Arrius 2ES engine giving 7% more power with the same fuel burn as the H135. Cabin volume increases 20% with fewer internal obstructions than the H135 in answer to suggestions from EMS and HEMS users. The prototype H140 (D-HEEY) has been flying since June 2023.

The Ba.44 was an adaption of the licensed DH.89 Dragon Rapide, changed to Italian construction techniques. Five were built for Ala Littoria plus one for Paraguay which, having c/n 4302, may have been the prototype. Here we see c/n 4303, ex MM267, I-AERE and I-ORSO. Sent to Libya, it was used by the air force to transport officials including Governor Balbo. From the fall of 1935 it became an ambulance and it seems to wear officious serial MM4303. By June 1940 it was involved in the invasion of Greece, joining the four others which had also been militarised. 4303 was then assigned MM60426. It crashed near Tirana on 9 March 1941. The Br 890 Mercure transport aircraft did not have twin tailbooms, but a swing tail which is open here. This prototype made its first flight on 5 April 1950, powered by Bristol Hercules engines, hence 890H. It was preceded by the Br 892 Mercure prototype, with four smaller Renault 12S (Argus As 411) engines, and the military, twin-engine Br 891 Mars. These aircraft did not enter production, with the French air force selecting the Nord Noratlas. Photo from: Bristol
