Douglas Aircraft at Oklahoma City built the majority of the C-47s and the plant is still in USAF use at Tinker AFB. This Oklahoma City Dakota served with the RAF in WWII before transferring to the RCAF in 1946, keeping the RAF serial KG623. In 1970, the RCAF's serial system was re-organized and it was assigned 12933. Pictured running up on the Air Force side of the airport, it's was colder than it looks. The aircraft is current with Kenn Borek Air as Basler BT-67 Turbo-67 C-GJKB at the time of uploading.

Titles obscured by the wing here. See Photo ID: 67919 for history. This photo was taken when the aircraft was on approach to the seldom used S-W/N-E runway (now closed) and shows the mud on the belly picked up from dirt airstrips. No cream puffs in this business - they were just delivery trucks with wings.

Perimeter Aviation started in 1960 as Canada's first private Instrument flight training school. Gradually adding maintenance services and charter work, the airline greatly expanded in 1976 when it took over Manitoba routes from Transair. The company added two new Metroliners in 1978, C-GYPA the first delivered in July. Perimeter would operate over forty Metros with twenty-seven of them still current at the time of uploading. Tragically, C-GYPA crashed overshooting at Shamattawa, MB on a medevac flight October 11, 2001.
