June/45: TOS USAAF as B-25J 44-86758 and placed in storage. June/51: Hughes Aircraft for conversion to TB-25K radar trainer, then assigned to James Connally AFB, TX. December/57: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ for storage. April/58: Arrow Sales Company, North Hollywood, CA; registered N9643C. August/58: H.H.Coffield/Rockdale Flying Service, Rockdale, TX. February/76: Purchased by two members of the Confederate Air Force, Harlingen, TX; began restoration at Rockdale. May/80: Trucked to Harlingen and ownership was taken over by the CAF. Restoration was completed in 1981, with first flight taking place in July.

Operated by the Alamo Wing of the Confederate Air Force. Strangely it carried a USAF type fuselage star and an RAF fin flash. It was re-registered N25YR in September 1991.

Constructed as a B-25J-35-NC by North American at Kansas City in August 1945 and allocated 45-8883 but not taken up by USAAF. Sold as N(L)75755 in 1946 and kept N number until acquired by the CWH in 1976 and painted as HD372 of 98 Sqdn.

Ex USAAF 44-30925. Registered as G-BWGR on 18 August 1995 with Aces High Ltd, and cancelled by the CAA on 22 February 2005. Now stored with Brussels Air Museum Foundation awaiting restoration to flying condition.

This B-25J was originally 44-86893 with the USAAF and became N6123C in October 1958. It was used as a crop sprayer and fire-fighter before its worth was recognised and it started flying on the air show circuit. The plane joined Red Bull in the early 2000's and is pictured here on the flightline at the end of the day and, I note, it also carries rather more 'exciting' nose art since the last time I saw it.

7 Jun '44: TOS USAAF and served with several units. By 3/49: 52nd Air Base Group, Mitchel AFB, NY. Ca.1953: Converted to a TB-25N crew trainer. 18 Nov '57: SOC. 1/58: Converted to air tanker with a 1,000 gallon tank; registered as N5256V. 2/62: Fitted it with agricultural spray bars. 1968: WFU and stripped of its engines and left derelict at Grass Valley. 1976-1980: restored to airworthy condition. 1980: Air Force Museum Loan Program. 8/80: Flew to Beale AFB, CA for display. 4/95: Trucked to Hurlburt Field, FL, where it was restored to B-25J configuration without a top turret.

Originally built for USAAF as B-25J 44-30606. Later converted to a TB-25N and retired in October 1957. Sold surplus on 13 January 1958 and registered as N5249V. At the time the slide was taken it had been reregistered as N201L. As of 2022 currently owned by TSM Enterprises of Carson City, NV. still with N201L registration.

Ex 44-30734. Named 'Panchito' for the film 'Pancho Barnes'. (It is incorrectly listed in Warbird Registry as c/n 108-35059 ex 43-36074, which became N9080Z then XB-NAJ.)

The Red Bull trio of Mitchell N6123C, Lightning N25Y, and Corsair OE-EAS gave a spirited show at Flying Legends.

K25 slide scan. Built 1944 as 44-29869 for USAAF. Remained in mainland US until retired 1957 and declared surplus 1958. Sold as N3160G same year. Acquired by Confederate Air Force 1978 and moved to Fleming Field for restoration. Painted to represent 327493 operating in the Mediterranean 1944/45. Reregistered N27493 1991, first flown after restoration 18 April 1992, the 50th anniversary of the Doolittle raid. Has since joined the Air Show Circuit.
