Before being moved inside at Duxford

Made the first flight of Concorde from Toulouse on 2nd March 1969, a memorable year indeed which included man's first landing on the Moon. Now on show alongside F-BTSD at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace.

The BAC prototype Concorde G-BSST made its first Farnborough appearance in September 1970 and was back two years later wowing the crowds, its Olympus 593s leaving thick trails of smoke. By the time of G-AXDN's appearance in 1974, the smoking had been largely eliminated.

Built 1965 as model 400, later modified to 500, 475 and 670 prototypes. Seen here as model 475AM with hush kits. Retained by BAC/BAe for all its life as prototype, flight test, research and corporate shuttle aircraft. Retired 12 October 1993, flown to Brooklands Museum 14 June 1994 for preservation.

This is the cabin of the second Concorde to fly containing test equipment. It is preserved in the Fleet Air Arm Museum

Delivered to the Ministry of Technology on 16 Apr 1969. Registered to the Ministry of Aviation Supply on 19 Feb 1971. CofA expired 30 Sep 1977. Cancelled on 10 Nov 1986.

Prototype Concorde on display at Musée de l'air at Le Bourget. This iconic aircraft first took to the air on 02 Mar 1969 at Toulouse-Blagnac in the hands of André Turcat, Concorde's chief test pilot, accompanied by Jacques Guignard, Henri Perrier and Michel Retif. It was also the first Concorde to go supersonic on 01 Oct 1969, holding Mach 1.05 for 9 min, again flown by Turcat.

Ex G-27-189, to which it reverted on 23 June 1971. Delivered to Kuwait AF in July 1971. Became ZG812 before delivery to Botswana ADF as OJ9 on 20 September 1988. Written off on 12 December 1989. (C/n given as 120 by CAA).

This first Concorde prtotype was built by Aérospatiale at Toulouse and made the inaugural test flight from Toulouse on 2nd March 1969. It first went supersonic on 1st October of that year and went on to fly with Aérospatiale until October 1973 when it was retired to this super museum for display. The small sticker between the forward door and windshield signifes that this plane was modified with rooftop portholes for use on the 1973 Solar Eclipse mission and equipped with observation instruments. It performed the longest observation of a solar eclipse to date, about 74 minutes.
