Carpenter's Dragon VH-URW failed to out climb the terrain after an attempted go-around, crashing into Little Wau Creek at the top of the Wau aerodrome. Sadly the pilot and a passenger were killed. However, the aircraft was sold to Parer's Air Transport and rebuilt, only to be destroyed by a Japanese attack in 1942. (CAHS/Len Dobbin collection)
