Built in 1957 and delivered to the US Navy as 144033. To the Naval Aviation Museum, NAS Pensacola, FL by 1979. Moved to the Robins Museum of Aviation, GA by 1985. Sold as N134RR in 1997 and operated as a warbird.

In the museum storage area. Sold as N28RF in 1985 and operated as a warbird. Reregistered as VH-FNO in 2008.

Delivered in 1957. Preserved at Pensacola from 1973.

Delivered to the US Navy as HRS-2 139151 in 1952. Redesignated as a CH-19E in 1962. Stored at Litchfield, AZ in 1963. To Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1965. Preserved at Pensacola from 1982. Looks like it is being restored. Repainted into US Coast Guard colours as 1258 by 1994. Moved to USS Alabama Park, Mobile, AL in 2014.

In 1982 this aircraft was recalled by the US Navy and after rework by Grumman was registered N8523H and used by the Smithsonian Institute for scientific explorations. In March 1989 its was acquired first by Island Flying Boats of Miami, and then in January 1990 by Air Crane Inc of Opa Locka, but October 1992 it was cancelled from the register as exported to Mexico. No Mexican registration could be traced, but its derelict hulk lives on Tepic International Airport, and it can still be seen there on Google Earth, imagery date March 2024.

May/45: TOS USAAF with s/n 43-47350. 6 Jun 45: Transferred to the Chinese Nationalist government. November/49: Purchased by Gen. Claire L. Chennault and Whiting Willauer; registered N8364C. December/49: Activated with Civil Air Transport (Nationalist Chinese airline). January/53: Civil Air Transport Southeast Asia; operated by the CIA. July/55: L.B. Smith Aircraft Corporation with c/r N1382N. October/55: Zantop Air Transport, Detroit Metro Airport. April/60: Re-registered as N611Z. March/68: Aviation Associates, GA. August/68: RALCO, Inc. October/73: Roger Wilcox. November/75 to October/89: Six owners. 2 October 89: National Naval Aviation Museum.

Among the aircraft that were restored in preparation of the completion of the Hangar Bay One building was P2V-1 89082. By October 2010 it was on display hanging in the northwest corner of the structure, where it still resides.

This CH-53D was active with the USMC from May 1970 through December 2011, when it was air delivered to the museum. Its last tour, with HMH-362, included combat operations in Afghanistan. It is currently on display on the west side of the museum parking lot.

This CH-53A was assigned to HMH-462 in South Vietnam 1968-1969. Retired in October 1974, and later acquired by the Naval Aviation Museum. In November 2013 it was transferred to the Fort Worth Aviation Museum where it is currently on display.

On 25 July 2003 this T-2C recorded the last T-2 carrier arrested landing aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-65). After being on display outside for many years the a/c went through a minor restoration, including repainting, and was moved inside the main museum building in March 2023.

Although marked as a USN XR2O-1, this Lockheed 10-A never served in the Navy. Built in 1938 and exported to Australia as VH-ABV and operated by MMA. After WWII reregistered VH-MMD. Returned to U.S. in 1954 and from then through 1975 operated by several entities with reg. N4886V. Reregistered N19HL and stricken from register in 1980. In 1987 Valiant Air Command reregistered it as N19HL. Restoration to flight status was started, but in 2002 the a/c was donated to the NNAM where a static restoration was completed. Currently on display in the main museum building.

Delivered to USN in November 1968. Assigned to VAL-4 in Vietnam from January 1969 through April 1972. Later transferred to the USMC and converted to OV-10D configuration. The aircraft is marked as when assigned to VAL-4. On 25 May 1969, while flying this a/c, LT. Pete Russell & LT(jg) Jeff Johnson were strafing a target when the a/c was hit by enemy fire. LT. Russell was fatally injured and LT(jg) Johnson flew the a/c back to Binh Thuy, South Vietnam, their base.

Delivered new in 1986 to HSL-40. Later assigned to HSL-44 and HSL-48. Air delivered to the museum on 29 July 2009 by HSL-48.. It is currently on display inside the Hangar Bay One building.

On the museum wash rack for its annual cleaning and maintenance. VP-40 was the last active duty P-3 squadron and this a/c was flown to the museum from NAS Whidbey Island, WA. on 24 October 2019. VP-40 currently flies the P-8 Poseidon.

On display in front of the original "temporary" National Naval Aviation Museum building. This was the first D-558-1 built, and conducted 101 test flights. It set a world speed record of 640.6 MPH on 20 August 1947 with CDR Turner Caldwell, USN flying. This Skystreak, although transferred to NACA, was never flown by them. Retired April 1949. It is on display in the atrium of the current NNAM main building.

I do not know where A -AI PHASE stands for. The identity of the FAA DC3 in the background is still unknown to me.
